rottenpizza December 31, 2015 Share December 31, 2015 Ok, yeah, min.us is a bad host. I got the pictures from archive.org, put them on imgur, and changed the links in the post. So everything should work fine. The old links are in a pastebin at the bottom of the OP. thank you!
Abinash June 5, 2016 Share June 5, 2016 I found this thread very relieving as I was about to give up visualization (I belong to the first stage). I am quite good at imagination but cannot see anything at all after closing my eyes. Could you please suggest me a few exercises which might help me to get to the minds eye. Thanks in advance. Vos June 5, 2016 Share June 5, 2016 I found this thread very relieving as I was about to give up visualization (I belong to the first stage). I am quite good at imagination but cannot see anything at all after closing my eyes. Could you please suggest me a few exercises which might help me to get to the minds eye. Thanks in advance. You're essentially forming the mental image of something, so if you're expecting to actually see things when you sit down and close your eyes, you're out of luck. If someone talks about a juicy burger and that comes to mind, you're using your mind's eye. We do have a guide list that contains a whole bunch of different visualization and focus exercises among others, if you're interested.
Abinash June 5, 2016 Share June 5, 2016 Thanks Vosaiu. I visited a few threads in your suggested link. They are about creating tulpae. My condition is like I only see a flash of an image for about a hundredth of a sec (cant even call it a flash right !). Seems like I am missing the minds eye. I just dont know where to focus. Please help me in above context. I understand this a pretty difficult situation for anybody to help.
waffles June 5, 2016 Share June 5, 2016 There are lots of guides on visualization there, if you search for "Visualization" on that page. I recommend this guide potentially, if you're having a lot of trouble. There is seemingly such a condition as not being able to visualise at all, aphantasia, but it's rare and really means that you can't visualise anything at all ever in any context (not even open-eye). Abinash June 6, 2016 Share June 6, 2016 Thanks a lot waffles. The link you suggested seems helpful for my condition. Will surely try out the method mentioned there.
I'mBadAtNames January 2, 2018 Share January 2, 2018 This guide was very relieving, but it became stressful again after I can't even make flashes of images appear at all after 2 months of trying. How is visualization supposed to feel like anyway? I think I may be visualizing without even realizing it, but I don't even get images close to that of in any of the images in the guide (except the first one, obviously). Also, I can't follow any of the other visualization guides in this forum, simply because they need at least the ability to visualize or a knowledge of what visualization is. I don't have either.
