Anyone else about ready for this election to just be the fuck over? I'm sick of it. I don't care who wins anymore, both parties and their supporters are making me wanna off myself more and more every day. I don't even mean to be all, idunno, "hurr I'm so above it all and impartial and that makes me better hurr both parties are shit" but god damn, I've never felt so horrible about anything ever. And oh man go on and shoot me in the head for not voting, sorry, did I say that? I meant "voting for the other person"

I hate to bring this here, and haven't really seen much if any political stuff on the forums, but fuck, let's see what the people think.

We all cucks/racists/irresponsible up in America now

Well, I'm not sure when but at some point I realized that all the news about the presidential candidates really just replaced celebrity news in larger media sites.

So once that's gone, we'll probably just be going back to that.

Though all this catastrophizing almost makes me wish for the apocalypse.

I call Canada immunity! I don't have to vote. Haha.

Oh, um, yeah, there is the unwritten rule on internet forums that you don't talk about politics and religion outside of politics and religion threads. And I have never been more thankful. Worst election ever. Two historically unpopular candidates. Record breaking. And the US throwing money at their elections like that'll fix the economy.

My political position? Sure. My host always votes green.

Well, it was really interesting to see propaganda in action for the first time, I guess. Like it was glaringly obvious this time, maybe just cus we're older. Hillary or Trump are going to win because nobody realizes there are other options and those that do were convinced they'd be "throwing away their vote" if they did. Like.. you know someone somewhere paid a lot of money to spread that stuff around. It's at the point where there are a lot of people who otherwise would definitely not have voted for them are going to vote for "the lesser of two evils" in their mind anyways. They all dunn got tricked, man.

Anyways politics fits snugly in the "Can't change, so don't worry about it" philosophy part of our mind, so it doesn't really bother me. Persuading other voters to vote differently is way more influential than just voting yourself. So we've just been telling people they have other options, but there is absolutely no investment in that working lol.

You can't actually throw your vote away unless you live in a swing state. Due to the way the US presidential election is structured, voters outside of swing states have no voting power.

If you really want to see propaganda, listen in to any middle or high school health class.

They way they put it, drugs are the spawn of Lilith and anyone who so much as pokes a recreational drug will be caught on it's snare for the rest of their life, ruin all their life goals and dreams, cause their family to leave them, give them multiple different kinds of cancer, give them schizophrenia, ruin their teeth and make them ugly, the list goes on.

I'm not even exaggerating. This is what I can remember from middle school health class.

Sure, recreational drug use is rarely a good idea, but at least let people make informed decisions about it.

CPR would be useful.

We never even talked about it.

Around here, health class can be summed up in two sentences:

"Don't have sex or you will get pregnant and ALL the STDs."

and

"Don't do drugs or [insert previously stated effects here] AND your parents will be disappointed in you."

The worst part is that the school I'm talking about is in Washington State, an hours drive from Seattle.

Washington is the last place you'd expect to find stuff like that.

Well, other than that the schools are good. Bullying is rare and normally met with making the bully a pariah (or ganking them in the street, depending on how dickish they were) and everyone's very accepting.

Damn. This place is more inflamed than an arsehole with proctitis, and you want to bring up the Election? No thank you. I really do not want to skim an otherwise okay thread only for it to spiral into someone's inane grand-standing and soap-boxing (I need to read more about that here like I need teeth in my asshole)

This life of games and diligent trust,

it's the things we do and the things we must.

I'm now tired of being cussed,

so go sleep forever, end to dust.

I had a similar experience. After years of blabber blabber drugs are bad mmkay blabber blabber that I didn't actually have any useful information on which to make decisions.

My visits to tulpa.info are chaotic. If you want me to see something, make sure to quote a post of mine or ping me @jean-luc

I'm using 10 posts per page now mostly just to defy jean-luc, but it is interesting, I feel like I'm getting a better feel for how long threads are. With 100ppp you almost never go to the next page.

The name is Henry, I would've used it as a username when I signed up but it was taken. Somehow the... interesting idea of repeating the first syllable popped into my head, and now my username is HenHenry. Now you know my life story.
