In my experience so far, that only happens when people bring up lucid dreaming.

It also seems to happen when I bring up switching. Or maybe that's just Luminescence. I may have gotten some of your posts confused.

 

@Enny: You describe fever dreams with distaste. Yet we enjoy repetitive, disjointed, chaotic, nonsensical dreams. This makes up the vast majority of dreams anyway. Uncomfortable we don't get. Dreaming is like being in the warm embrace of your lover with no responsibilities or cares, listening to the best music ever written, getting a head rub with your eyes closed on christmas eve next to a roaring fire.

 

The ones we don't like are the work dreams, which are basically just remixes of the work we did, the games we played or the chats we chatted the previous day. Because they are boring.

(Well, this is the chat thread, so I opted to keep the rest of this post after the first paragraph. But there's no need to read it if you don't feel like it.)

 

The only one who got annoyed about switching recently was Lucilyn, and that was only potential annoyance. No one challenged her on what she said, so it was fine. Though we are pretty sick of the fighting over the definition of switching, I wouldn't say it normally gets an emotional response out of us. We generally just want to see goings-on flow smoothly and help keep everyone happy.

 

As far as large "emotional" events go, the first would be when Mistgod was very first driven away from the forum, Lumi was in a foul mood for a while. He'd been working pretty hard to keep everyone from fighting, but there were a few individuals who were needlessly aggressive, and Mistgod had also yet to leave several times by that point.

 

Second and third were both Lucilyn's only two experiences being legitimately sad. First was a somewhat innocent one, Lucilyn had stated her distaste for philosophical arguments in one of Linkzelda's threads and he said if she didn't want to participate she should stop talking. Not really a big deal, but she was young and that was the first time someone had directed a statement like that at her. Second was more recent when Mistgod took something she wrote in their thread as anti-imaginary-friend and said it ruined how happy he'd been prior. That was kind of interesting, I've not seen anyone in our system battle with emotion that intensely before, as none of us but her are really the emotional type. But she eventually came to Reisen and I to comfort her, and actually became the first of any of us to cry from sadness. It was only in the wonderland, but either way it was a first.

It was probably for the best she get some experience with that sort of thing in a situation like this, where the other person was our friend and prone to mood swings anyways.

 

And that's about it. Lumi's had some rather bad moods in our progress report and the OP of our dreaming thread, but I'd either say they weren't as bad or were dealt with away from the forum.

 

Also, his full username is Luminesce, as in the verb. A verb that is never used anywhere, but the verb nonetheless. He created the name to be symbolic of "Creating light" in helping improve others' lives and his own, after deciding to stop using Reisen's name online. It was supposed to be accompanied by a more positive and conscientious mindset. I guess it might've been?

Luna II is the name of an asteroid base in Mobile Suit Gundam and I think it's really cool.

Ugh, terrible blendy morning.

 

Anyway, this week really feels like everyone is abandoning the forum. Of course, when you had so many new people last week, and this week vos is not posting, and Linkzelda has vanished for a while now.

 

Now, I wasn't planning on sticking around or anything, but if it turns out I'm the last one here, that is going to be even weirder. And rather melancholy.

Mm-mm, we won't be leaving. If this forum shut down we'd go to another, although this is the one we call home.

 

Blending isn't the end of the world. You are the same human being. There's more than enough potential in a human mind to maintain multiple identities, and in forms other than tulpas it's done all the time. Decide what's you and what's not as you go, and don't worry about it too much. I also think and act similarly to my host sometimes compared to the others, but that's alright, and I've still got my sense of self. Don't pretend you don't share the mind with her, and don't worry if things get a little blurry sometimes. They'll get clearer with time.

Oh my god, I just realized I (we?) read quoted text in a lower-quality/recording-esque tone rather than the normal one. I was just re-reading a quote of myself I was posting on another thread, and when I finished reading the quote and went back to normal text I noticed that. For the quote, the mental voice sounded a little lower quality like it was recorded, lol. It was kinda funny.
