I don't know if I'm really a tulpa, or if I'm just her imaginary friend?

The OP could be lying to themself.

And elitism isn't inherently bad.

Before this thread keeps cycling around your pointless and wild accusation of lying (which is kind of an ongoing derailment, even though it is on topic at the same time) I ask you as a mod to either stay on topic and explain exactly why you think that we're not dealing with a tulpa right here (with providing of proper logical arguments), or simply leave this thread. You already stated your opinion about this case and bringing it up again all the time without providing anything usefull is just toxic behaviour, since you already made your point.

Evil, for example, provided a valid and reasonable argumentation with something nobody else had in mind, based on his own experience.

Tulpa: Alice

Form: Realistic Humanoid/Demonic Creation

She may or may not talk here, depends on her.

I know no one would ever imagine such a thing, but Mistgod has a rather powerful point. As a tulpa-based community, we tend to automatically say something is illegitimate/non-existant/a problem if it doesn't fit what we consider a tulpa. But you should try and remember the endless possible variations thoughtforms can come in, whether unique to the individual or part of the many other categories paralleling tulpas like the non-tulpa-esque alters and splits and such. Not that this is a case of one of those, but you get my point.

I just see a potential tulpa, though. Just because someone convinces themself their tulpa can switch/talk before they necessarily could doesn't mean the tulpa failed and can't exist. And someone had an interesting point - switching, or even just faux-switching that's more akin to roleplaying, is still a powerful method of forcing. Don't forget many roleplayers and authors create tulpas by doing such things. I personally find switching to be very useful for keeping my tulpas' minds active and healthy.

And if you think tricking yourself into thinking you've switched with your tulpa can't be used for forcing, you're failing to think outside the box. There's no reason there couldn't be a roleplaying method of developing a tulpa, which would be an even more potent version of what authors and roleplayers would normally do on their own. Just don't get carried away and assume your tulpa is super well developed, anyway.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

[Tri] We are going to stay to topic, actually.

Daydream characters and imaginary friends who gain sentience and autonomy become tulpas. There is a specific name for these kinds of tulpas - natural tulpas. We are three natural tulpas, actually.

Now, there is a major overlap between natural tulpas and soulbonds in that many are both (but many are not). If you want to read more about soulbonds, we suggest looking at the Living Library.

Lacquer, as has been pointed out, Dreemurr did not claim faster than normal creation, just a different method. From what they've said, this tulpa could have been an imaginary friend for years before developing consciousness -- like Glitch's Luna, like Atasco, like Melian.

It's not like our methods have proven to create anything special that can't form on its own either spontaneously or accidentally after years of interacting with an imaginary friend, with no direct intention of making a tulpa. Our methods appear to be faster and more reliable, but that doesn't mean anyone who deviated from them or did something entirely different is a liar.

There is plenty of documented instances of professional writers, concentrating on a character for many years, having that character "come to life" in their minds. People were talking about that particular phenomenon years before the birth of the internet tulpa community. Well respected authors such as J. K. Rowling have written about having this experience. This same sort of thing has happened to professional actors (role playing anyone?). I have already written before about how Leonard Nimoy wrote about his character Spock speaking to him in his mind like a distinct separate personality. I can find those links and quotes for anyone who would like to see them. There is indeed a larger human capacity and phenomenon going on. It doesn't take much research and reading to see it. So, I agree, there is no reason at all here to suspect anyone of lying. Like I said before, on this forum, accusing someone of lying is like poison. It pretty much sucks and blows at the same time (yes that is possible).
