Hello fellow tulpamancers, I am new here and in dire need of advice. I am scared to start making my Tulpa because I want it to be absolutely perfect, and I cannot for the life of me decide on or visualize a perfect appearance for my Tulpa, something I feel I must do before I even consider starting its creation. To me it is very important that my Tulpa is 100% perfect in every way I have control over, as I aim to have it with me for the rest of my life, and as I would feel guilty if I didn't give it the most polished form I possibly could. This is especially difficult for me as the form I have in mind is of course not real, and I will not be content until I can visualize a form realistic enough to match the world around it.

I do not know exactly what advice I am asking for, I suppose I am just asking what others have done that have already gone through the creation process with similar thinking to myself. I am curious as to how owners ever managed to settle on an appearance for their Tulpa as I am personally finding it extremely difficult and pressuring to do so. xD

What do you mean by perfect?

Technically, the only "perfect" form would be just a lack of form, but that makes it hard to concentrate.

Besides, a tulpa is a friend and companion, you know how horrible it would be if one of your friends was literally a paragon of humanity and was with you constantly? Imperfection makes us human, the differences between us are the only things we share.

In all honestly, I'm not sure you understand what you mean by perfection. I'd say the best for you is to think of a general form and personality and just build it from there. As your tulpa matures, you grow to love each other anyway, since you're effectively the same person. I'd say just throw yourself in and see what happens.

Happy forcing, and welcome to tulpa.info.

Tulpas are very adaptable. Chances are he/she'll change as she matures, and become someone you both think is perfect. I wouldn't worry at all.

The above post does not contain facts.

q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.

Protip: Don't make her perfect. If you ever found a human who was perfect in every sense, you would probably think something was fake, or inherently wrong about the person. imperfections are what make humans human, and it's what allows us to connect with each other.

That aside, you probably don't mean the textbook definition of perfect, so just get as close as you can to that ideal, and build off it.

I think striving for a "perfect" tulpa is not only excruciatingly difficult (if even possible), but it is not worth it.

My tulpa and I aren't exactly sure what being "perfect" constitutes, but we know we wouldn't be where we were today if she had been "perfect."

She says, "I think flaws are important in any sentient being's development, tulpa or not. It's what ironically holds us together and keeps us going."

I agree. But think about it: if he/she were perfect, think about how insignificant he/she would make you or other people feel. On top of that, if you're perfect, you cannot make mistakes, and if you cannot make mistakes, then you cannot gain wisdom. And you can only give a tulpa as much wisdom as you have.

I didn't mean literally perfect, in my eyes imperfection is what makes us special, I just meant I want to put my best work into it, not just settle on some random appearance I think would be a decent look for my Tulpa. The problem is I'm unsure exactly how I want her to appear and I have a hard time settling with something I view as so important. I don't want to rush this step as I am choosing the appearance of someone who will be my companion for the rest of my life. :P

Just pick a form and fly with it. If it deviates, let it be.

I think you should use fede's method.

Oh, I understand exactly what you are talking about.

When I first started forcing, I wanted the exact same thing. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do, so I began personality work. I had always imagined her personality to be more feminine, and I think that's what initially pushed me into simply making her form human. It was a very gradual process, and not one that I made easily. Now I love her form more than ever. Okay, enough about my tulpa.

The point I'm trying to make is this: you shouldn't let form control the personality. Really good friends are your friends because of their personality, am I correct? Not because of the way they look. (At least not entirely, I hope.) In my opinion, tulpa-wise, form is very important, but not nearly as much so as personality. And as a bonus, personality is something you can work with to produce a fitting form.

But don't get me wrong. If you want to create a terrifying fire-demon that recites poetry, go right ahead. Just make sure it is something that you won't get tired of.

In my case, I decided I could never get tired of a cute girl.
