Seems to me some of you guys want to help, and others just want to criticize.

 

Criticize is a subset of help. It's just a mean way of helping.

 

The key to getting the most out of Internet is to cope with meanies like those.

Constructive criticism is saying what one is doing wrong, to point out what they need to fix. This is positive. Regular criicism is pointing out flaws just to be mean. Since the only difference between the two is the intent of the critic, we can't, and shouldn't try to, differentiate between which is which. Since assuming it's all constructive is the most helpful and productive way to look at things, that is what we should do.

All kind of critique is important and useful even if it's not sandwiched between pretty words and compliments. Where a lot of people fail these days is that they are way too proctected and cry when they hear anything against them unless you also pet them and tell them what a good boy they are. Always nice to hear what you're doing right I guess, but there always isn't much right you can point out. And really, it's what you are failing in and the help you can get from someone else pointing out what you haven't seen yourself that is truly invaluable. You're serious about this? Any kind of critique does and you can see the wise words behind the "nasty" crust. You're just here for asspats? Yeah sure go talk to your hugbox, I'm sure they'll tell you how the h8rs are just jealous of your skill and charisma, so you should ignore them.

 

Honestly, Cruse here has matured a lot, I can say. I don't think he was quite this way the first I saw him, but now he seems like a different person. So, kudos.

I came to this thread and read the first post, expecting to be able to help a guy with a problem. However, that seems to have all went to hell, so I'll back off. Lots of talk about bronies being the next furries and shit like that, and even being a brony myself I do have to admit most of the fandom is pretty fucked up. especially when someone started mentioning sexualized animal genitalia. *shudders*

Yeah, no one has anything against someone (okay, some do, but for different reasons) saying they are a pony fan or something. It's you labeling yourself as something that you know rains a ton of shit on you. If I had to label myself something, it's anti-brony, but neutral towards pony fans.

I label myself a brony because I like the term. Just because we have some fuck-ups in the fandom doesn't mean I'm going to act like the show isn't a large part of my life (and my reason for making tuppers.)
