Abvieon April 13, 2014 April 13, 2014 The "Disaster" Pokemon was a joke. A pun on how I thought all this would turn out. We've both moved past that, she's a manticore of sorts now. I've read the "Survey for fluently speaking tulpae" on your tulpa, it didn't seem as if she took her form as a joke. I am surprised to know she is now a manticore, haha. I'm writing a tulpamancy / science fantasy novel! Tulpas & Tea Discord server. A cozy place to discuss tulpas, psychology and spirituality (or just hang out.)
Linkzelda April 13, 2014 April 13, 2014 What an ironic twist, the host implying a tulpa took their form as a joke, ends up being a misunderstanding on their end, chortle, chortle. This calls for further discussions with said tulpa. 7 Hours of Active Forcing 8 Hours & 29 Minutes of Active Forcing 10 Hours of Active Forcing

She rolled with it and it grew on the two of us.

Raxter April 16, 2014 April 16, 2014 The only issue I have with media-made tulpas (pony tulpas specifically) is that they just take the pony form and color it in with different colors and call it a "different" tulpa from the next user. Then they try to act unique and say the personality is widely different, or some other such notion. If I took a picture of Sonic the Hedgehog and say, photoshopped him to make him orange or purple, calling him a different name and such it still doesn't change the fact that it's a form that finds its home in the Sonic universe. Then say that there's tens of hundreds of people doing this and they all claim theirs is "unique" and "different". It's still fundamentally based on a children's television show and my knee-jerk reaction to it is contempt. It's one thing to gain inspiration from a show or a character. But it's quite another for so many to just carbon copy its form and still claim that it's "just as good" as any other because you have a semi-different trait list. The most terrifying thing about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent. In the vast darkness we must supply our own light.
Bin April 16, 2014 April 16, 2014 Welcome to the wonderful world of autism, raxter. CWC is a shining example of what you're talking about. And he arguably does have a sonic(hu) tulpa. Course I personally never cared myself, if it makes them happy why not. But yeah, like you said if they gawk about it's originality, that does kind of spark some laughs. But honestly I never noticed that here, maybe I'm just not so aware of my surroundings. no

For clarification I don't mean to say that they are "wrong" for doing this, and certainly not that they have autism. Just, there's only so many times you can come across someone with a media generated character before you start wondering if they care more about having a fictional character from a show next to them, or if they actually take the concept seriously and they're progressing in a meaningful way. Being happy is fine, but there is too definitive of a line between users that simply want to live in MLP land (and use the tulpa concept as their "vehicle" to get there), and people that simply use it as a minor reference whilst still pursuing the spirit behind developing a tulpa. In short, these two groups get mixed together and all that can happen is stereotyping the lot of them because they've generated a climate where they can be stereotyped and judged. By no means did I mean they were afflicted by some mental disorder. The most terrifying thing about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent. Bin April 16, 2014 April 16, 2014 Process of elimination my friend, if it sounds like a duck it probably is a duck, no reason to really check the other factors as statics show they'll most likely be consistent. If you throw an object up and it comes back down, factors show it's probably gravity, you don't really need to check if the core of the planet is magnetized, that's already assumed. Honestly I too wonder if it's some kind of phase. I mean, a lot of bronies are like evolved manchildren. I totally agree with you about them not taking this seriously, but in fact I think tulpas are just a means of enabling them to actually indulge in having an imaginary friend. They already watch a children's show, roleplay like children, diaper fetishism is pretty big in the brony community as well. Imaginary friends are not out of the question. In all their progress reports they just talk about all the dumb partying they do in their wonderlands, absolutely no trace of any enlightenment or self-discovery at all. That isn't even a tulpa, it's literally an imaginary friend. lol and these are the majority too, like really it's no wonder tulpas will never be socially acceptable. I can't even feel sorry about it. no

By no means did I mean they were afflicted by some mental disorder. I admit, when I first started looking into tulpas, I took the escapist route. I found that this is a chance to have an actual pony (well I know it's not an exact copy, it's basically a tulpa using whatever canon my subconscious took in to form a similar being) living with me, I enjoy their personalities, so why not have one living in my head. I did learn more about the spiritual side, and I admit that they're guides and companions first, and they're not here to aesthetically please us with their forms. However, if my tulpa doesn't mind looking and acting like Pinkie Pie, and both me and my tulpa are happy and satisfied, then what harm is there in it? I know that bronies shove MLP down people's throats, and practically turn it into a religion, but what me and my tulpa decides on affects only me and my tulpa. I'm not unleashing Pinkie Pie upon the world, she's within my consciousness (although through possession and switching, she can, technically, be unleashed into the world :)) I would like to emphasize that I'm ok with whatever form and personality my tulpa takes. I just use a base example to make her easier to visualize and communicate with. In the end, neither tulpas or hosts have a say in the matter anyway, because the subconscious ultimate chooses the form. Your tulpa is an anime character. So who are you to talk about those who made their tulpa into a pony? As long as the tulpa wants to go along with the pre picked form and personality, then anything else is irrelevant I'm not forcing anything on my tulpa, and if possible, I want her to have the final say. I just happen to prefer ponies, but I understand that my tulpa could be anything. So, I use the form and personality as bases to tulpaforce, and at any point, my tulpa can be whatever she pleases. If she does stay pony form, then that's a bonus. I know that the brony community pushes their love of ponies onto others, but the form my tulpa takes is nobody's business. People are welcome to read my progress reports if they like, but my tulpa becoming a pony does not affect anyone. This silly concern with what form other people's tulpas takes is ridiculous. And how would you know that someone can't use their pony tulpa to help them grow? We're humans, we're perfectly capable of having our cake, and eating it too. Will list tulpas when I get things sorted out in my head.
