Argentum April 6, 2014 April 6, 2014 I think that it is time that I take the metaphorical plunge and ask this question to you all: Why is your tulpa a Rainbow Dash/Gamzee/etc etc? What was your reasoning?
Ayre April 6, 2014 April 6, 2014 Is this question, "why does your tulpa take the form that they have?" or is this just for character-based tulpas? Host: Ayre Tulpas: Coda and Segno Shameless Progress Report Plug: Ayre's Opus 1: Informal informative index of inhabitants in an invisible inner-world.
Kiahdaj April 6, 2014 April 6, 2014 I suppose people create tulpas based off of series that they like, because they like them. I don't think that's too terribly far-fetched. "If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."
Discord April 6, 2014 April 6, 2014 Twilly is being based off Twilight Sparkle, because Twi is everything I want in a friend and more. She starts as this introvert who feels she has no need for friends, but she learns the importance of friendship, and becomes a really likeable character in the end (although they made her into a Mary Sue) I was originally gonna make one based on Lyra since she has no canon personality so there would be less chance for confusion, but I liked Twi's personality a whole lot more. And the reason I like MLP: FiM is because of it's utopian theme, and also, ponies are bucking adorable :D Will list tulpas when I get things sorted out in my head.
glitchthe3rd April 6, 2014 April 6, 2014 The only reason I have a Saria tulpa is because I made her when I was like 12, and she refuses to dissipate so I still keep her around. "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report
Argentum April 6, 2014 Author April 6, 2014 Is this question, "why does your tulpa take the form that they have?" or is this just for character-based tulpas? The question is basically: Why is your tulpa based on a character from a TV show/anime/video game/...? I suppose people create tulpas based off of series that they like, because they like them. I don't think that's too terribly far-fetched. That was what I guessed too, but I was curious if there was a deeper version of that, or a different answer entirely.
Ayre April 6, 2014 April 6, 2014 The question is basically: Why is your tulpa based on a character from a TV show/anime/video game/...? Never mind then. But yeah, if i had to guess it's because people seem to grow close bonds with the characters they watch on television (or see in games/read about) as a form of sudo-social interaction. Seeing as how tulpa are companions created by the host that feel this bond it would seem reasonable to try and bridge that gap and actually try and become closer to the character they admire. Guest Anonymous April 6, 2014 April 6, 2014 The "Disaster" Pokemon was a joke. A pun on how I thought all this would turn out. We've both moved past that, she's a manticore of sorts now.
Strangelove April 6, 2014 April 6, 2014 I like cute things, and ponies are pretty cute. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness in this world. Tulpa: Penumbra Form: Pegasus Pone Current Stage: Everything. At once.
