Tewi February 21, 2016 February 21, 2016 We've all developed as people. It's a bit outside the scope of tulpamancy, as we all generally have the same complexity to our beings as our host now. We've changed a lot. As for actual deviation, Flandre's the only one that ever really "deviated" from her initial self, choosing to be split into two halves, her anger and strength, and her love and compassion. Roughly speaking. Flandre and Scarlet are both their own people now, though. Scarlet's a lot less coarse than she was, and a lot more mature. Literally. We've all grown age-wise at roughly the same rate as Lumi, but Scarlet is much older in appearance and personality than when she was created. "Day one" we were all immature compared to now, but that's just how it is when your host is 13. Flandre was insecure, I was apathetic, Reisen was.. Actually more "pure", but less grounded as a human. She's not too different now, but she's a much more wholesome individual. Flandre is obviously not-insecure, she's done a lot of growing up too. I learned to live, but I'm still learning how to have fun. And I really want to. Being purely logical is boring and not what being human is about, but it's tough to change who you are. Lucilyn's been her since day one, but that was less than a year ago, whereas for us it was over six years ago. It's unlikely she'll change too much from how she is now. Might become older and more sure of herself, maybe. Take everything I just said (except Reisen's "purity") and combine it together, and you've got most of how Lumi's changed. AracnidsGrip/Rick February 22, 2016 February 22, 2016 Ok. Vris has changed a lot. In the physical way, specially. She first was a ball of cerulean and white light. Then, she came into what I call "her baby form". Her baby form was the body of a 6 legged worm, with her normal head and completely blue eyes. Then she came into "her kid phase". She became a little troll girl and then she came to "her teen phase". She was just exactly as she is now, just that not that tall, and more immature. Now she's in "her adult phase". As I said before, she's just the same as her teen form, just that taller (1,83m) and more mature. And hotter. Jejejejeje. My other tulpae, besides Rin and Illyasviel, came out as they're now. Well, kinda. Fef first was a troll, and now she's "human". Pink blooded human. Rin has crossed through the baby, kid, and teen phases, and Illyasviel is still in the first one.

Guest Anonymous February 22, 2016 February 22, 2016 Isn't deviation different from personal growth and learning? Yeah, of course over the years I have learned things and we a have a history. I have changed in that way. I mean I have changed a lot since going public on the internet three years ago or so. I thought the OP meant deviations as in changes in form and personality in the creation process. I have not deviated from my original form and my personality is pretty much the same as it was in the beginning. But I have learned a lot and I have changed a lot. Too much to really cover here.

Good point. Is this about deviation or simple growth...? A wise man once said: 'Before judging a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? He's a mile away, and you've got new shoes.' Graced are those who could avoid this phenomenon. This is perhaps the worst expression of evil in humanity's history, but who am I to judge?
RamaLlama February 22, 2016 February 22, 2016 Jaakob's looks have deviated a lot from the start, but it's probably because when I first started imaginating him I didn't know that he was here to stay. So I actually imagined him looking very boring and plain, as his company was the reason he was created. He had semi short brown hair, very generic face with some stubble, plain gray t-shirt and jeans. So absolutely nothing interesting, but I wasn't very interested on his looks anyways. After that his looks have gradually changed when he started to be something more than just an imagination companion for lonely times. His hair and beard grew longer and he got older looking and gained some wrinkles, and his face gained more personality. I haven't noticed any changes in personality, but then again, I didn't give him any strict and detailed personality to start with so it's more like he's growing it by himself than changing it.

I was asking specifically about significant changes that weren’t predicted or initiated by the Tulpamancer, which is what I reckon is “deviation”. But maybe I’m mistaken on the right definition? I’m basically trying to understand how much Tulpas change on their own, and if they gain traits independently or against the will of the Host. Also, I read that in DID some alters can even suffer from allergies that are not present in the original personality. I wonder if differences so radical are possible for Tulpas, or if their personality and abilities tend to be still linked to the Hosts. “Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” [progress report]
