Demiqas January 4, 2016 January 4, 2016 I made an account just to say this: Tulpa's are very real and this website has done a great job and making a complete joke out of it. Why would anyone even believe it when they come here and the first thing they see is some prepubescent mangirl making sexual fanfics about his tulpa ponies? Tulpa's are a part of energy work and you can safely assume that anyone who on this website claims they made one are merely roleplaying or fooling themselves, as it would take a lot more than a beginner girls cartoon fan to make one. To get a decent understanding of the whole subject, start reading "Initiation Into Hermetics" (just google it, there's a pdf first link). Then you can decide for yourself whether you believe it or not. Note that it is a lot of reading work though. The book however does a great job and explaining everything from 0 to 100 and consists mostly of exercises after the first 30 pages for those who decided to go for it. (the book is not about tulpas, but once you have mastered it making a tulpa will not be a worry).

When you come off in such an offensive way (people don't really, uh... do that...?), it makes you seem like a troll, which I would like to believe you are not, but saying those things makes your credibility go down, friend. With that in mind, this community adheres to pseudo-science, the psychological field concerns members here far more than the occult/metaphysical approach. But I believe that you are entitled to saying what you have in mind. Instead of making an offensive post, why not just make a thread in the appropriate section? Not only would it gain more exposure, but it would give you more credibility than barging in with rude language, trying to tell people what to believe. I AM interested in what you said, though. I looked up this Initiation Into Hermetics on Google, and found the pdf. I have read the first pages aside from the index, and the topic interests me. Perhaps you could make a thread regarding this topic? I assure you it would be highly beneficial to share your point of view and correct us incorrigible tulpamancers. Awaiting your answer. Ah, I'm too tired. I only came here to help. « — Va, je ne te hais point ! »

I don't watch the show. 2. As Evil put it, this forum revolves around pseudo-science. A very small amount of people even believe that tulpas have anything to do with "energy", and the most, including me, believes this to be about psychology. 3. You won't be making anyone believe that tulpas are a work of "energy" until you have stone-hard statistics. I don't think "energy" has anything to do with statistics. Honestly though, I'm skeptical of tulpas myself but if I had to chose between "Tulpas are a psychological phenomenon." and "Tulpas are totes made of mystical energy." I'd pick the former. Plus I think nowadays there are more people on here with non-pony tulpas than people with them, not that it matters. Luminesce January 4, 2016 January 4, 2016 you can safely assume that anyone who on this website claims they made one are merely roleplaying or fooling themselves Here I guess? anyways, lol is my response urrite, we're all deluding ourselves and your tulpa is indeed > our tulpas you win Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
Guest Anonymous January 4, 2016 January 4, 2016 EDIT: I deleted my response to Demiqas. This whole thing is just too stupid for words.
Punch January 4, 2016 January 4, 2016 tell me where I said this. Uh okay: you can safely assume that anyone who on this website claims they made one are merely roleplaying or fooling themselves Most of the folks on /x/ these days spend all their time accusing each other of roleplaying and posting random mystical mumbo jumbo. Also there's a post about how tulpas are totes dangerous and will kill you about once a day. I'm aware that the origins of the tulpa subculture were on /x/ and /mlp/, but it's evolved into its own thing since then. Most people here aren't big on metaphysics, and there's not much pony fucking going on either. I want to be ignored Don't want a speaking part I don't want any one to notice The blood spilling out of my exploding heart
Yuki January 5, 2016 January 5, 2016 Don't respond to trolls. If he wants to believe undefined ~energy~ is the only way to create a tulpa, that's fine. His argument is garbage, so there's little reason to take that seriously until he comes up with something interesting. Until then, the best thing to do would be to ignore it until it goes away. Feel free to ask me anything. Suffering is self-imposed. Don't let it control you.
Bainbow January 8, 2016 January 8, 2016 To be honest, I see where he's coming from. I mean the way he said that was rude and way too blunt, but he does sadly have a point. It's the whole thing that the worst of any community often tend to be the loudest. I know when I turned up here first, I was legitimately horrified at first glance at the behaviour of a number of people, often people trying to use tulpas to bring some pony or what-not to life while actively admitting to denying their new companion the room they need to grow as an independent persona, forcing them to act like their favourite character. It was actually very sickening to me and made me really hope that they were just role-playing because the alternative would be something I would equate to mental slavery. NOW OF COURSE I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS A MAJORITY OF PEOPLE, not even saying everyone who has a tulpa who takes the form of a pony or some such is like this, I know my headmate over here took the image and name of a fictional character for quite a while willingly though she did change out the form after a while. But these negative members do tend to be some of the most noticeable people in this community, and it's sad. But really it happens all over, that's why the international image of Americans are gun-obsessed, obese morons. It's painfully obvious that this is a minority of Americans, but they're louder and more noticeable than the average person. So instead of just writing this guy off, perhaps you should take this as a sign to distinguish yourself from the stereotype he described, prove you're better than that and end that stereotype because as long as it exists, it will influence how your community appears to others. As for the skepticism of tulpas, I'll just put it this way. Anyone who's even briefly studied psychology can tell you that the mind is an utter powerhouse of a machine and is capable of insane things. In addition to the general genius intellects that it can generate, it's capable of things like the well-known placebo effect where your body will absolutely change simply because you expect it to, pain can vanish for no other reason that you think it has, it's insane levels of mind over matter. Even a small number of mental disorders such as DID can really show how massively complex the mind can be and what it's capable of. So is it really so unbelievable that this powerhouse can create and sustain something like a tulpa? Really the way I've always seen it is that skeptics shouldn't question whether tulpas can exist, but rather if somebody claiming to have one is telling the truth.
