How did you decide on what form your Tulpa would take?

Took a pre-existing character with little to no personality, and it basically deviated from there.

I had been a brony for a while when I found out about tulpas and I thought, hmm, I can imagine a pony more easily than a human. So then I had to figure out which pony. I had always really liked Beauty's color scheme, and she had little to no personality predefined (even counting fanon). TBH, I only decided yesterday, but I think I made the right decision.

I have a relevant question. The only thing I have left to do before I begin working on my tulpa is deciding on a form. I've gotten every other aspect of visualization and personality figured out, but I can't decide on a form. My original idea was to do a Fluttershy tulpa with changes to her personality so there's no identity issues, but I can't help but wonder if I'll still want a pony tulpa in 10 years. The other alternative will be a humanized version of her but probably with a different name. I think I'd feel more comfortable around a pony tulpa for now, but as I said, I don't know how I'll feel about it when the fandom is long gone.

 

For people who are making a pony tulpa, how did you decide you wanted a pony over a human? And would anyone advise against making a pony tulpa?

You make a valid, albeit angry, point tulpatalk.

 

Thinking about it now, since tulpas always deviate, I'm sure she would feel disappointed trying to live up to be the character she is on the show. Even if I somehow create her personality to be an exact copy of hers on the show, the show is always subject to potentially drastic change, which could cause even worse identity issues.

 

At this point I'm fairly sure I'll go with a human tulpa, even though I'm not 100% sure. I don't think I've ever been so conflicted on something in my life to be honest.

So why wouldn't you go with a human tulpa? I bet I could rebuttle any argument for making a nonhuman tulpa.
